Rifter
So my indefinate break from WoW has now become a permanent one, thanks to the likes of Rift.
Many MMOs haven’t been able to cut it for me. Even the most promising ones that had captured my heart for a fleeting second; up until the moment I realized how shit it was about to get - ripped it out of me, threw it onto a tarmac floor and stomped the shit out of that thing.
Not Rift. God, not Rift.
Rift is… what WoW could have become if it had improved and refined certain aspects of its game play. It’s what WoW could have been if it had taken the steps to actually keep it’s player-base interested and maybe a little challenged. It’s what WoW could have been if it encouraged more people to be individual and play the game they wanted to play rather than to reform to some cookie cutter mold.
Rift takes everything WoW had gotten right… and made it better.
I did kind of expect Rift to be like Aion - look pretty, but lack any real content. Boring grinds with no real reward in sight. I was so wrong.
I hope this game doesn’t let me down. I pre-ordered it and have been playing the headstart. I have also payed for 6 months play time - that’s how fucking impressed I am over this game.
I was also enamored by this rock. A ROCK FOR FUCKS SAKE. I spent about 5 minutes in awe looking at it. Textures, detail, shadows, everything.
Then I thought about rocks. In WoW. And lol’d.

Good on you :D I went horde a little while back, and I haven’t really looked back since.
